Everything past the first turn

47 features, grouped into three tiers. Each keeps its own switch; /experimental shows them with your tier applied.

Which tier turns on what: the docs. What these pages do not show: terms and limits.

One session, every terminal, live

A session belongs to the daemon, not to the window that started it. Open it in a second terminal, a split, or from another machine, and every one of them follows the same turn as it streams. Remote and attach.

  • Sessions live in the daemonClose the terminal and the turn keeps running. Open it again and you are back where it is.
  • Attach from anywheremendcode -s <id>, --continue, or Ctrl+S for the session list. Every window shows the same turn as it streams.
  • No gapsA terminal that reconnects replays from the last event it saw, so nothing streamed while it was away is lost.
  • Another machineWith a token, --connect attaches to a daemon on a server over TLS. A read-only token only watches.

Agents that keep working

Goals, loops, sub-agents and script workflows, each with a budget and a page where you can watch it, approve it or stop it. Workflows and agents.

  • GoalsTurns continue until the objective is done or the budget is spent.
  • LoopsAn objective on a schedule, with gates, caps and runs you can audit.
  • Sub-agentsThe task tool hands side work to a child session, on a cheaper model if you set one.
  • Script workflowsA short JavaScript program starts the agents; every call is journaled, budgeted and sandboxed.
  • Fan-outOne prompt to two to eight models, each in its own worktree, then compare.
  • WorktreesAgents work on their own branches. Nothing reaches your checkout until you apply it.

A goal keeps the session taking turns until the objective is met or its token budget runs out. The footer counts both.

/goal --budget 200k <objective>

Pull request review, run by your own agent

/pr review reads the diff with the code graph around it, tries to refute every finding before it keeps it, and posts through your gh: a summary, the merge risk and one inline comment per confirmed defect. PR review.

  • Two passesOne pass finds candidate defects; a fresh one tries to refute each. Only confirmed findings are posted.
  • Context from the graphThe diff plus the callers and callees of every symbol it touches.
  • Your gh, your modelNo GitHub App, no webhook server, no stored token.
  • Off until the repo says soNothing is posted until .mendcode/review.yaml on the base branch sets enabled: true.

How one review runs

  2. Review passa read-only child in plan mode lists candidate findings
  3. Verify passa fresh pass tries to refute each one

What the real run wrote, and the Markdown behind the example

Summary it wrote for google-gemini/gemini-cli#29982The change resolves model aliases before checking multimodal function-response support, so dotted Gemini 3 model names and aliases can be recognized. It also adds tests for dotted names, aliases, and preservation of nested response parts; the main risk is whether the updated capability check remains consistent with existing model-resolution behavior.

Merge risk it gavelow · bug fix · The runtime change is limited to model capability detection and reuses the existing model resolver and Gemini 3 pattern. A regression would mainly affect whether multimodal tool output is nested correctly for a model.

acme/shop-api #482 is example data. The text is what reviewBody and commentBody in packages/daemon/src/pr-review/publish.ts return for it, unedited. The real run above found nothing to confirm, so it had nothing of this kind to post.

**🟠 Major** · **Correctness** · confirmed by a second pass

**The coupon preview still applies the uncapped rate**

`previewDiscount()` multiplies the subtotal by `coupon.rate` and never reads `coupon.cap`, so the checkout preview shows $40 off a $200 cart while `totals()` now charges $15. The customer sees one price and pays another.

```suggestion
  const discount = Math.min(subtotal * coupon.rate, coupon.cap ?? Infinity)
Swap the whole MendCode, keep work apart from personal
A package changes how MendCode looks and what it offers, and turning it off puts everything back. A profile keeps one set of folders on its own memories and models. Packages, profiles.
  • A whole setup in one folderTheme, terminal profile, right panel, keys, prompt files and any of the 22 view slots, plus skills, commands, agents, MCP and workflows.
  • Off puts it all backA package is an overlay: nothing is written into your settings, and removing it restores them.
  • Profiles by foldermendcode profile add company ~/Code/acme: its own user memories, model roles and default permission, applied without switching.
  • Your setup on another machineA config bundle carries your own setup as one file with a hash for every file, previewed before import and rolled back after.
o on /packages lists every setting, key and view a package takes over. k keeps your own value for one of them.
Three tiers to start from
A tier only picks which features start on, and how many tokens the first request costs. The installer picks balanced. Install with another tier.
  • Minimalist1,064 tokensThe agent and almost nothing around it: the smallest prompt and the quietest screen.
    • Read, write, edit, shell, glob and grep: it reads your code, changes files and runs commands
    • A short MendCode prompt plus your AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md and the memories you approved
    • Skills when asked for, listed by a tool instead of sitting in the prompt
    • A compact screen without the right bar
    • Auto-resume when a usage limit pauses the turn
  • Balanceddefault2,421 tokensMinimalist plus the tools that save tokens on a real project. What the installer picks unless you ask.
    Everything in minimalist, plus
    • Code graph: symbols, callers and impact before reading whole files
    • Sub-agents: the task tool hands side work to another agent, on a cheaper model if you set one
    • Script workflows, offered only when searched for, so they cost nothing until used
    • MendCode's tools inside Claude Code sessions
    • Filters that trim long command output, and a notice before compaction
    • A Git page to review, commit and manage worktrees
    • A checkpoint before a usage limit, /handoff and a review order in /changes
    • A focused prompt with your skill catalog, and a comfortable screen
    • Adaptive reasoning effort, where the provider supports it
    • /fanout: one prompt to 2–8 models, each in its own worktree, then compare
    • Sub-agents in their own worktrees, and the ACP agent registry
    • Compaction while idle, before the prompt cache expires
    • The full prompt: runtime capabilities and extension prompt overrides
    • The pet companion
    Allowed, off until you switch it on
    The headless browser, voice dictation, Code Mode, the worktree tool and pi as an engine. No tier turns these on by itself.
It can use your Mac
With computer use on, the model works in other apps the way you would, one approved window at a time. macOS only. Computer use docs.
  • Mac appsReads an app's accessibility tree and presses, types, clicks, scrolls and drags in it. A small pointer shows where it acts.
  • Bound to one windowOff until /tier computer on. Unless you run in full access, you approve the app and the mode before it acts.
  • Built on your MacThe helper compiles locally from source with Apple's tools. No download, no service.
  • Headless browserUp to eight isolated tabs in a Chrome, Edge or Brave you already have. Opt-in.
  • VoicePush-to-talk dictation with /voice. Needs an API key for transcription.
Long sessions keep the request
When the context fills, MendCode summarises it in fixed sections and appends your last request itself, so the next turn starts from what you asked for. Native engine. How compaction works; not yet measured against other CLIs (why).
  • Sectioned summaryA full window becomes a summary in fixed sections plus the latest turns.
  • Engine-written anchorYour last request and open to-dos are appended by MendCode, not the model.
  • RescueA summary that fails or would not fit is rebuilt locally from the session.
  • Usage limitsA turn paused by a usage limit continues when the window resets.
Next to the other terminal agents
Read on 2026-10-29 from each project's own docs and source. “Not found” means the docs we read do not mention it. Most rows are shared. What none of the others does in those docs is run another agent CLI as one of its own engines; pi's extensions reach further into its screen than MendCode's view slots.
